Biography of Fahriye Evcen
Fahriye Evcen is a Turkish film and television actress. She was born on June 4, 1986, in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, to a Turkish father who emigrated from Thessaloniki and a Circassian mother. Fahriye's childhood was a difficult period for all Turks in Solingen. After graduating from high school, Fahriye enrolled at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where she studied sociology.
Early Career
During her studies in Düsseldorf in 2005, Fahriye and her mother went on vacation to Istanbul, where Fahriye unexpectedly landed a role in the series "Never Forget." After the filming, Fahriye decided to pursue an acting career and took an academic leave. Soon, she gained wide recognition in Turkey for her role as Necla in the modern adaptation of Güntekin's novel "Leaves."
Rise to Fame
While still working on "Leaves," Fahriye received several significant roles in TV series and movies, including Songül in the mini-series "Melancholy," Kyz in the film "Heaven," and Pınar in the film "Love Eclipse." In early 2009, Fahriye enrolled at Bogazici University to study history, but her busy schedule filming "Leaves" forced her to postpone her studies until the end of the shooting process. Fahriye graduated from the Faculty of History at Bogazici University in 2014.
Notable Roles
In 2013, Fahriye landed the lead role in another modern adaptation of a novel by Reşat Nuri Güntekin, "The Little Singer." This was followed by her portrayal of Müjgan in the TV series "Kurt Seyit and Shura." In 2014, Fahriye received the lead role in the film "Love Resembles You," where she played the love interest of Burak Özçivit, whom she had previously acted with in "The Little Singer." In September 2016, it was announced that Fahriye would star in the film "Endless Love" alongside famous actor Murat Yıldırım. The film was released in February 2017.
Personal Life
In early 2015, it was revealed that Fahriye and her co-star Burak Özçivit from the film "Love Resembles You" had started a relationship. The couple plans to get married in 2017.
