Early Years and EducationNikolai Trofimovich Kalmykov was born on October 26, 1907, in Vasilievsko-Shaitansky settlement, now known as Pervouralsk in the Sverdlovsk region. In 1926, he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks) and pursued his higher education at the Ural Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1934.
Rise to Prominence at PNTZ
After graduating, Kalmykov joined the Pervouralsky New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) in various roles. His unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership qualities led him to become the Director of PNTZ in 1954. He held this position until 1984, leaving an indelible mark on the Soviet metallurgical industry.
