Biography of Filipp Lutykov
Early Life and CareerFilipp Petrovich Lutykov was born on December 28, 1891, in the village of Arsenyevka in the Konyshyovsky district of the Kursk region. As an orphan, he experienced hardship and deprivation from an early age. At the age of less than 14, he started working in the mines of the Donbass region, first as a lubricator for lifting machines and later as an electrician. In 1914, he was mobilized to the front and served in the engineering troops. It was during this time that he first heard about Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik Party, which influenced his future path. During the Civil War, he defended the young Soviet Republic against the German imperialists and internal counter-revolution in the 14th aviation detachment of the Southern Front. After demobilization in May 1920, he returned to the Donbass region and worked on establishing the energy industry in the mines. In 1924, responding to Lenin's call, Filipp Lutykov joined the Communist Party, and remained a dedicated and principled communist for the rest of his life.
Leadership and Achievements
In April 1924, the magazine "Donetsk Professional" wrote about his selfless work at the Annensky mine in Krasny Luch, Voroshilovgrad Oblast. In 1925, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for his outstanding work in the restoration of the Annenka mine. From May 1926, Lutykov worked on the construction of the Shterovskaya power station and became the head of the energy complex. He organized self-education circles and actively sought to expand his knowledge. In September 1928, he was appointed manager of mines No. 5-7, and two years later, he became the director of the newly built ore repair plant in the city of Krasny Luch. Under his leadership, the plant was completed ahead of schedule by November 7, 1931. For excellent organization of construction work, Filipp Lutykov was awarded gold watches. In May 1934, he moved to the city of Krasnodon, where he managed the mining department of "Donbassenergo" for several years, and from 1937, he headed the Central Electromechanical Workshops of the "Krasnodonugol" trust. Known as a sensitive and responsive person, as well as a strict and demanding leader, Lutykov earned well-deserved respect from his colleagues.
Political Involvement
For many years, Filipp Lutykov was a deputy of the Krasnodon City Council of Working People's Deputies and chaired the parent committee of School No. 4, where many future members of the underground organization "Young Guard" studied before the war. He frequently spoke to young people, sharing his rich life experience. In the spring of 1942, a few months before the occupation of Krasnodon, the district committee of the party recommended Lutykov as the leader of the party underground. Despite his age and health condition, Lutykov accepted the challenging and dangerous task of organizing resistance activities in the enemy rear. In the fascist captivity, Lutykov continued his struggle, inspiring his comrades with his courage and steadfastness. On January 16, he was executed near the shaft of mine No. 5.
Legacy
Filipp Petrovich Lutykov was buried in a mass grave of heroes in the center of Krasnodon. On May 10, 1965, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Lenin by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Lutykov's life and sacrifice serve as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the communist cause and his dedication to the fight against fascism.
