Gabrielius Landsbergis, a distinguished Lithuanian politician, holds the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, a position he has held since December 11, 2020. Family and Early Life

Landsbergis's familial lineage is deeply intertwined with Lithuanian politics. He is the son of filmmaker Ramunė Landsbergienė and poet Vytautas Landsbergis, and the grandson of politician Vytautas Landsbergis. Born into a family immersed in the arts and public affairs, Landsbergis embarked on his own path in higher education at Vilnius University.

Education and Diplomatic Experience

From 1999 to 2005, Landsbergis pursued a Bachelor's degree in History (2003) and a Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy (2005) at Vilnius University. His academic pursuits were complemented by his practical experience at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as in the Government Chancellery.

Election to the European Parliament

In 2014, Landsbergis's political career took a significant turn when he was elected to the European Parliament. As an active member of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) group, he made his presence felt in European politics.

Chairman of the Homeland Union and Member of the Seimas

Landsbergis's rise within the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats culminated in his election as Chairman of the party in 2015. The following year, he was elected to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, where he has served since.

Minister of Foreign Affairs

Landsbergis's most prominent role came with his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania on December 11, 2020. Concurrently, he holds the position of member of the Seimas.
