Biography of Gennadiy Zubko
Early Life and EducationGennadiy Zubko, a prominent Ukrainian politician, was born in Ukraine. He holds a specialized degree in "Automated Control Systems" from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which he earned in 1991. Zubko has furthered his education through various courses and programs, including "Investment and Financial Management in the Construction Industry" and "Innovation Management" from the prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Additionally, Zubko completed a postgraduate program at the Ukrainian Research Institute "Projectstalconstruction" named after V. Shymanovsky in Kyiv and earned his Candidate of Technical Sciences degree from the Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture in 2012.
Military and Professional Background
1986-1988:Zubko served as a conscript in the Armed Forces of the USSR.
1988-1990:He worked as an engineer-programmer for the Zhytomyr Regional Production and Technical Communications Administration.
1991-1992:Zubko served as an engineer-programmer for MP "NIVA" in Zhytomyr.
1992-1994:He held the position of commercial director at the production firm "Serhiy" in Zhytomyr.
1994-1997:Zubko ascended to the position of director of LLC "Mayak" in Zhytomyr.
1997-2002:He became the director of LLC "TANTAL" in Zhytomyr.
2001:Zubko assumed the role of project leader at OJSC "LINOS" Lisichansk LPU.
2002-2010:He served as deputy chairman of the board of OJSC "Zhytomyr Plant of Cladding Constructions" in Zhytomyr.
2003-2007:Zubko held the position of head of the Department for Coordination of the Activities of Metal Construction Installation Organizations within the State Corporation "Ukrmontazhspetsstroy" in Kyiv.
2010-2012:He rose to the position of chairman of the board of PJSC "Zhytomyr Plant of Cladding Constructions."
Political Career
2006-2010:Zubko served as a deputy of the Zhytomyr City Council of the 5th convocation. He also led the Zhytomyr Regional Organization of the "Edinyi Tsentr" party. However, after Viktor Baloha's departure from the Presidential Administration, he left the party.
2010-2012:Zubko was elected as a deputy of the Zhytomyr Regional Council of the 6th convocation and became the chairman of the "Front Zmin" faction. He was a member of the standing committee on budget and communal property issues.
May 2012:Zubko headed the Zhytomyr regional election headquarters of the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna," but remained non-partisan himself.
December 2012:He was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation from the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna" party. Zubko became the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Communal Services, and Regional Policy.
May-June 2014:Zubko served as the acting head of the State Administration of Affairs.
June-December 2014:He was appointed as the first deputy head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine.
December 2, 2014:Zubko assumed the position of Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine in the Yatsenyuk Government.
April 14, 2016:He continued in the same role in the Groysman Government.
Awards and Honors
September 10, 2009:Order of Danylo Halytsky for his significant personal contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of Zhytomyr, long-term conscientious work, and on the occasion of the 1125th anniversary of the city's founding.
August 28, 1987:Medal "For Distinction in Military Service", II degree.
