Biography of Graham Hart

Graham Hart, the owner of the famous company Rank Group Ltd, is considered the richest person in New Zealand. His personal fortune is estimated to be around $6.1 billion, which has not gone unnoticed by Forbes magazine, who named him one of the wealthiest individuals on the planet. The Rank Group Ltd is a private investment company owned by Graham Hart.

Global Acquisitions

Hart is known for his love of global acquisitions. For instance, he is the 100% owner of companies Burns Philp and Carter Holt. He also acquired a beverage packaging company a few years ago for $725 million. In addition, in May 2007, Hart purchased the Swiss packaging company SIG for $3.2 billion. This company is the second-largest producer of packaging materials, with Tetra Laval being the largest. In August 2007, Hart became the owner of an American paper packaging company, which he acquired for $450 million.

All of these acquisitions and many others have made Hart the most significant producer of paper products on a global scale. However, it is worth mentioning that Hart's career started humbly as an ambulance driver. He is educated, having obtained an MBA degree from the University in 1987. Throughout his entrepreneurial journey, Hart has always worked not just for himself or for money. These concepts have always taken a backseat for him. Although, of course, business as a whole has been and remains the primary focus of his life.

Personal Life

At present, Graham Hart is married and has two children. He lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Despite his tendency to be modest in public (for example, in front of the press), he occasionally indulges in innocent luxury. One such luxury is his own yacht, which was built several years ago and is estimated to be worth around $100 million. However, he is a regular person who is not unfamiliar with humanity and courage. Recently, Hart performed a heroic act that spoke volumes about his character. Near Waiheke Island, he rescued three people and a dog by pulling them out of their burning boat. This courageous act was well appreciated by the media and his fellow countrymen, who considered the billionaire a true hero.
