Passion for Fitness

Plitt developed a passion for fitness thanks to his father, who equipped their home with a small gym when Greg was in the sixth grade. His interest in sports grew when he witnessed the significant transformation of his older sister after her first year at the United States Naval Academy. Plitt later compared his work as a trainer to the process of transforming recruits in the military. He believed that the remarkable changes new soldiers experienced were inspiring. Many recruits, initially tough and rebellious individuals from urban streets, struggled with discipline and following orders. However, through support and guidance, they transformed into normal soldiers and reliable comrades. Plitt found these transformations captivating and believed that discipline and personal growth were crucial in the journey towards achieving one's potential.

Achievements as a Trainer and Model

Plitt was not only a talented trainer but also a skilled motivational speaker. He traveled around the world, gathering large audiences for his speeches. While fitness played a significant role in Plitt's life, he also explored other avenues. He represented and modeled for 'Thierry Mugler's Angel Men' and the men's fragrance line 'ICE*Men'. He appeared in numerous commercials for brands such as 'Old Spice Body Wash', 'ESPN's Great Outdoor Games', 'Under Armour', 'Zoli Sinks', 'Gold's Gym Power Flex', and 'Bowflex'. Plitt worked as a model for 'Under Armour', 'Old Navy Jeans', 'Calvin Klein', 'Modell's', and 'Skimpies'. Within eight years, he graced over 250 magazine covers, earning the title of America's top male model. Additionally, Plitt appeared on the cover of a fitness magazine every month for five consecutive years, setting an incredible record.

Entrepreneurial Success

Plitt achieved considerable success as an entrepreneur. He launched several successful projects, including the multifunctional fitness device 'Metaball' and the energy-protein dietary supplement 'Whey Up'. Plitt's products generated substantial income and established his reputation as a successful entrepreneur.

Acting Career and Tragic Death

Plitt ventured into acting and even served as the inspiration for the physical appearance of Doctor Manhattan in the 2009 film adaptation of the popular comic book 'Watchmen'. Tragically, Plitt passed away on January 17, 2015, at the age of 37. Initially reported as an accident where he tripped and fell onto the train tracks, it was later revealed that his death resulted from his own recklessness. Plitt attempted to outrun a train, which ultimately led to his demise. It was discovered through footage from a camera installed in the train's cabin. Plitt's dangerous stunt was apparently intended for an advertisement, promoting an energy drink that supposedly made one as powerful as Superman, capable of outrunning a moving train. Unfortunately, the drink did not grant Plitt invincibility, and his life was tragically cut short.
