Education and Early Career
In 1975, the future politician began their academic journey at the Yerevan Institute of National Economy, where they graduated in 1980 as an economist. Subsequently, from 1980 to 1990, they worked as a senior researcher and lecturer at the same institution.
Financial Industry Experience
Between 1990 and 1992, the individual held prominent positions at "Masis" commercial bank, serving as department head and deputy chairman of the management board. They then joined "Menua" insurance company in 1992, initially as chairman and later as chairman of the board of directors.
Banking Leadership Roles
From 1994 to 2001, the politician held various leadership positions at Armagrobank, including head of department, deputy chairman of the management board, and chairman of the board. They continued their involvement in the banking sector from 2002 to 2003 as an advisor to the chairman of the "Anelik" bank.
Political Career
The politician's political career commenced in 2003 when they were elected as a Member of Parliament. They served on the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit, Budgetary, and Economic Issues and were a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (OTP). From 2008 to 2009, they served as a member of the Council of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
Academic Endeavors
Concurrently with their political responsibilities, the individual remained committed to academia, teaching part-time at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University from 2002 onwards.
