Early Life and Education
Grigory Samardak was born in Ukraine. In 1988, he enrolled at Donetsk Commercial Institute, where he studied Economics and Management in Trade and Public Catering, graduating in 1993 with a qualification as an "economist-organizer."
Career in Taxation
Upon graduating, Grigory Samardak began his career in the public sector, serving as a state tax inspector in the currency control department of the State Tax Inspectorate in the Donetsk region from 1993 to 1995. He subsequently moved to the State Tax Inspectorate in the Zaporizhzhia region, where he held various positions, including state tax inspector, senior state inspector in the currency inspection unit, and senior state tax inspector and chief state tax inspector in the department for currency operations control.
Financial and Banking Sector
In 1997, Grigory Samardak transitioned to the private sector, becoming the financial director of the limited liability company "Joint Ukrainian-Chinese Enterprise "Timag" in Zaporizhzhia. The following year, he joined the Industrial Bank in Zaporizhzhia, where he held several positions, including head of the credit department, head of the department of active-passive operations, and head of the financial management department.
Local Government
In 2001, Grigory Samardak entered local government, serving as the deputy head of the main department for the fuel and energy complex in the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration. In subsequent years, he held various positions of increasing responsibility, including deputy chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration and first deputy chairman.
Banking and State Administration
After a brief period of unemployment, Grigory Samardak returned to the Industrial Bank, where he served as deputy chairman of the board and director of the department of corporate and investment operations. In 2009, he became the first deputy chairman of the bank's board. In 2014, he was appointed first deputy chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, a position he held until April 2015.
Chairman of Zaporizhzhia Oblast
On April 6, 2015, Grigory Samardak was appointed chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration. In December 2015, he was elected chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Council, serving until December 15, 2020.
