Early Life and Education
Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermannwas born in Düsseldorf, Germany. She studied English, Political Science, and International Relations at the University of Kiel.
Career
After graduating, Strack-Zimmermann worked as a communications consultant in Geneva and Washington, D.C. for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, an organization close to the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
Political Career
In 2016, Strack-Zimmermann was elected to the FDP's Bundestag election list for the state of Schleswig-Holstein. She became the youngest female member of the 19th Bundestag.
In 2018, Strack-Zimmermann was appointed Chair of the Bundestag Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid, becoming the youngest committee chair in German parliamentary history.
In 2019, she co-signed an "Open Letter Against Political Repression in Russia."
Personal Life
Strack-Zimmermann is married to Dennis Bornhöft, an FDP member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament. They have one daughter.
