Biography of Hannah Teter
Hannah Teter is an American snowboarder and participant in two Winter Olympic Games. She was born on January 27, 1987, in Belmont, Vermont. Teter represents the California-based club 'Sierra-at-Tahoe' and is sponsored by the renowned snowboarding equipment company 'Burton Snowboards'. Her snowboard, boots, and bindings are all from 'Burton', and she uses a goofy stance.

Early Life and Family
Hannah Teter began snowboarding at the age of eight on the slopes near her home, imitating tricks and techniques from her older brothers. Two of her brothers, Abe and Elijah, are professional snowboarders who compete for the US national team. Teter is the only girl among their five siblings. Her brother Amen took on the role of her agent and manager. Hannah's parents, Jeff and Pat, were avid skiers but switched to snowboarding under the influence of their children.

Snowboarding Career
In 2002, at the age of fifteen, Hannah Teter became the junior world champion in halfpipe and started competing in the World Cup. She placed fourth in her first World Cup halfpipe competition in Chile. In 2003, Teter became the youngest member of the US national snowboarding team.

At the age of nineteen, Hannah Teter became an Olympic champion, winning gold in the halfpipe event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Despite not being fully recovered from injuries, she doubted her ability to compete at a high level. Four years later, she won a silver medal at the Vancouver Olympics, finishing behind Australian snowboarder Torah Bright. Teter also has a bronze medal from the 2005 Snowboarding World Championships, gold from the 2003 Winter X Games in superpipe, and multiple bronze medals from the Winter X Games.
Charitable Contributions
In addition to her snowboarding achievements, Hannah Teter is highly regarded for her philanthropic work. She partners with the international Christian organization 'World Vision' to support various projects across six continents. In 2008, Teter founded her own charitable organization called 'Hannah's Gold', which operates a small maple syrup factory in Vermont. All proceeds from the syrup sales go towards supporting the Kenyan community of Kirindon. Teter's projects include providing clean drinking water, supporting local farming, supplying seeds and agricultural equipment, and building schools.
Furthermore, Hannah Teter raises funds to assist the people of Darfur, a region in western Sudan that has experienced a humanitarian crisis. She also supports the non-profit organization 'Boarding for Breast Cancer', which helps women battling breast cancer.
Other Interests
Aside from snowboarding, Hannah Teter enjoys wakeboarding, a water sport that involves performing various tricks and jumps on a specially designed board. She is also passionate about practicing yoga, which has shaped her worldview.
If Teter had not pursued snowboarding, she would have become a veterinarian due to her love for animals or opened a store specializing in healthy food. In 2009, the Vermont-based ice cream company 'Ben & Jerry's' introduced a new flavor named 'Hannah Teter's Maple Blondie', with a portion of the sales supporting Teter's charitable organization.
