Early Life and Youth CareerHans Galje was born on February 21, 1957, in Rijswijk. A year later, his family relocated to Delft, where he discovered his passion for football. Galje joined the youth team of local club DHL. At a young age, he expressed interest in becoming a goalkeeper.
Debut with DHL and Invitation to City Team
Galje honed his skills and grew to an impressive height of 188 centimeters. At the age of 17, he made his senior debut for DHL. His talent caught the attention of the Hague city youth team, where he was invited to play.
Transfer to ADO Den Haag and Eredivisie Debut
In 1976, Galje's exceptional abilities were recognized by scouts from ADO Den Haag. He joined the club and made his Eredivisie (Dutch top flight) debut on January 9, 1977, against Haarlem. Galje kept a clean sheet in his first match, securing a 0-0 draw for his team. In his debut season, he played 16 league games and conceded only 13 goals.
