Academic Background

Born in (year missing), Vardges Kostandyan embarked on his academic journey at the Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages named after V. Bryusov, where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in philology. His pursuit of higher education continued at the prestigious Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where he obtained his Ph.D. in philosophy and became a professor.

Career in Education

Kostandyan's academic career began at the Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, where he taught from 1969 to 1972. He then joined the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, serving in various capacities, including senior lecturer, associate professor, dean, and finally head of the department from 1972 to 1991.

Educational Leadership

In 1991, Kostandyan took on the role of director of the Yerevan Humanitarian College, where he remained until 1994. His academic pursuits also extended beyond Armenia, as he served as a visiting professor at the Moscow State Open University from 1994 to 1995.

Rector of 'Interlingua'

From 1995 to 1999, Kostandyan served as the rector of the 'Interlingua' University of Linguistics, demonstrating his dedication to the advancement of knowledge in language studies.

Political Career

In 1999, Kostandyan entered the political arena as a member of the Armenian Parliament. He represented the constituency of (constituency missing) and served on the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, and Youth Affairs. Throughout his parliamentary tenure, which lasted until 2003, he remained unaffiliated with any political party, maintaining an independent stance.
