İsa Həbibbəyli: Azerbaijani Scholar and Academician
Early Life and Educationİsa Həbibbəyli was born on October 16, 1949, in the Dandzik village of the Sharur region of the Nakhichivan ASSR, Azerbaijan. He graduated with honors from the Azerbaijani Language and Literature faculty of the Nakhichivan branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute.
Academic Career
From 1971 to 1975, Həbibbəyli worked as a teacher in a rural school in the Sharur region. In 1975, he joined the Nakhichivan State University as a lecturer, associate professor, and vice-rector for science. In 1996, he became the rector of the university.
Scientific Achievements
In 2001, Həbibbəyli was elected as a corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). Two years later, he became a full member. He is also a distinguished scientist, a laureate of the Yusif Mammadaliyev Prize, a full member of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a full member of the International Academy of Sciences of Informatization.
Recognition and Honors
In 2007, Həbibbəyli was awarded the Order of Shohrat by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has been elected as a deputy to the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhichivan Autonomous Republic and the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has also been included in the State Commission for Awards in the field of science, culture, and literature.
Publications
Professor Həbibbəyli has published over 200 articles and authored 41 books. His research focuses on Azerbaijani language, literature, and folklore.
