Early Life and Education

Jack Lowden is a British actor born in Chelmsford, Essex. His family relocated to Uxton, Scotland, where he spent his childhood. Lowden's younger brother, Calum, is a Principal Dancer with the Scottish Ballet.

Despite their non-theatrical background, Lowden's passion for acting emerged at a young age. At 10, he joined a theater workshop at a Scottish youth center, honing his skills in pantomime. After attending Earlsdon Preparatory School, he spent summers in London attending a short course at RADA. He also sang with the Opera Youth Society.

His breakout role on film came through the adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's "Ghosts," which he co-starred in with Lesley Manville. He was recognized with several awards for his portrayal in the film.
