Early Life and Career

Tom Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario, to Mary Jane, a waitress at Waffle House, and Richard Green, a retired army captain turned system administrator. He spent his childhood on a Canadian Army base before his family eventually moved to Gloucester, Ontario.

Tom Green

In the early 1990s, Green attempted to pursue a rap career as part of a group called 'Organized Rhyme'. Then, in 2005, he returned to rap culture, this time as a member of the 'The Keeping it Real Crew'. Towards the end of 2005, Tom released his first solo rap album, 'Prepare For Impact'. The album's release opened doors for Tom to collaborate with artists such as 'Spice 1' and Bushwick Bill from 'Geto Boys' on their projects. Tom also had the opportunity to perform alongside popular rap artists and groups like 'Too Short', 'Flava Flav', 'Grand Buffet', 'Mickey Avalon', 'People Under the Stairs', and 'Xzibit' during his 'Tom Green Live show'.

In early 2008, Green released his second solo album, 'Basement Jams', which was only available online.

The Tom Green Show

The first ideas for 'The Tom Green Show' emerged in September 1994. Initially, it was a program on Rogers Television 22, which aired exclusively in Ottawa until 1996. In 1997, the show moved to The Comedy Network, a network dedicated to comedy programming, and two years later, MTV expressed interest in Tom Green and his show. Thus, after conquering Canada, 'The Tom Green Show' made its way to the United States. The show's format was broad, with the main idea being that celebrity guests and musicians would perform live in front of a studio audience while Tom would often play pranks on unsuspecting guests or the audience. His parents were frequent targets of his jokes on the show.

After moving his show to MTV, Tom Green became famous overnight. This newfound fame led to several roles in Hollywood films. He appeared in comedies such as 'Road Trip', 'Charlie's Angels', 'Freddy Got Fingered', and 'Stealing Harvard'. Green even directed and starred in 'Freddy Got Fingered', a comedy that won five Golden Raspberry Awards for the worst films of the year in 2001. However, Tom showed up at the award ceremony and became the second person in 22 years to attend this notorious event. The first was Paul Verhoeven in 1995.

Personal Life

In July 2000, Tom Green got engaged to actress Drew Barrymore, who was a passionate fan of his show. Their relationship began after Barrymore offered Green a role in the movie 'Charlie's Angels', in which she starred and produced.

Tom Green has had a multifaceted career, balancing his talents as an actor, rapper, writer, comedian, and internet personality. His unique and often controversial sense of humor has made him a distinctive figure in the entertainment industry.
