James Troisi: Australian Footballer

Australian footballer James Troisi is a midfielder currently playing for Melbourne Victory and the Australian national team.

Professional Career

Early Career

In 2007, Troisi signed with Newcastle United, but did not make an official debut. He gained interest from clubs in England, Spain, and the Netherlands.

Turkey and Italy

In 2008, Troisi joined Gençlerbirliği in Turkey and scored his first goal in 2009. He moved to Kayserispor in July 2009 and emerged as a key player. In 2012, Juventus signed Troisi, but immediately sold part of his rights to Atalanta. He debuted in Serie A in August 2012.

Loan to Australia and Belgium

In 2013, Troisi returned to Melbourne Victory for playing time. In 2014, "Juventus" acquired the rest of his rights from Atalanta and loaned him to Zulte-Waregem in Belgium.

Saudi Arabia and China

Troisi transferred to Al-Ittihad in 2015 and then to Liaoning Huwin in China. He returned to Melbourne Victory later that year.

International Career

Youth and Debut

In 2008, Troisi played for Australia's youth team at the Beijing Olympics. He made his senior debut in 2008 against Singapore.

World Cup and Asian Cup

Troisi was called up to the national team for the 2014 World Cup, where he played against Chile and Spain. He participated in the 2015 Asian Cup, scoring goals against New Zealand and South Korea.

Confederations Cup

In 2017, Troisi played for Australia at the Confederations Cup, scoring a goal against Chile.
