Early Life and Career
Jan Laštuvka, a Czech footballer known for his goalkeeping skills, was born in Havířov, Czechoslovakia. He honed his abilities with local clubs Baník Ostrava and Karviná before embarking on an impressive international career.
Ukrainian and German Dominance
In June 2004, Laštuvka joined Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League in July 2004 and contributed to Shakhtar's title triumphs in 2004/05 and 2005/06. During his tenure, he also spent time on loan at Fulham in England (2007) and Bochum in Germany (2007/08).
English Adventures
In August 2008, Laštuvka moved to West Ham United on a season-long loan. After his return to Shakhtar, he signed a three-year contract with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in August 2009. With Dnipro, he played 89 matches and conceded 80 goals.
Return to Czech Republic
In 2016, Laštuvka returned to his native Czech Republic, joining Karviná for a year. In July 2017, he moved to the capital club Slavia Prague.

Beyond football, Laštuvka is known for his philanthropy. After the outbreak of hostilities in Donbas, he extended support to the Ukrainian army.
