Early Life and EducationJaime Garfinkel is a Brazilian billionaire and successful entrepreneur. Born and raised in Brazil, he earned a prestigious bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo in 1970. Subsequently, in 1975, he completed an MBA from the Getúlio Vargas College.
Career at Porto Seguro
Garfinkel embarked on his professional journey in 1972, joining Porto Seguro as an Assistant Executive Officer. His hard work and dedication led to his appointment as Vice President three years later. Today, he serves as the President, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Porto Seguro, one of Brazil's largest insurance companies. Additionally, he holds leadership roles in Porto Seguro Vida, Azul Seguros, and Porto Seguro Saúde.
Industry Involvement
Beyond his leadership at Porto Seguro, Garfinkel plays an active role in the insurance industry. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of Fenaseg, the National Federation of Private Insurance and Capitalization Companies. Previously, he served on the board of the National Council of Private Insurance and Capitalization (CNSP) from 1987 to 1991 and as President of the Syndicate of Private Insurance and Capitalization Companies from 1989 to 1990.
