François Fillon
François Fillon is a French politician who served as the Prime Minister of France from 2007 to 2012.
Family and Early Life
Fillon was born on March 4, 1954, in Le Mans, France. He comes from a prominent political family; his father, Michel Debré, was a Prime Minister of France and one of the founders of the Fifth Republic.
Political Career
Fillon began his political career in 1981 when he was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly. He served in various ministerial positions under President Jacques Chirac, including Minister of Higher Education and Research, Minister of Labor, and Minister of Social Affairs.
In 2007, Fillon was appointed Prime Minister by President Nicolas Sarkozy. During his tenure, he implemented a number of reforms aimed at reducing government spending and stimulating economic growth.
Chairman of the Constitutional Council
After leaving office as Prime Minister, Fillon was appointed Chairman of the Constitutional Council of France in 2016. The Constitutional Council is responsible for ensuring that laws passed by the Parliament comply with the French Constitution.

Fillon is married to Penelope Creighton and has four children. He is a graduate of the Sorbonne University.
