Jerry Hall: The American Diver Who Set a New Underwater Endurance Record

Breaking the Record

Jerry Hall, a 48-year-old American diver, achieved a remarkable feat by staying underwater for over five days. He broke the previous record in August 2013, spending an astounding 120 hours and 15 minutes submerged in Lake South Holston, Tennessee.

Life Underwater

Despite the isolation of being underwater, Hall kept himself occupied with various activities. He played checkers with fellow divers, watched television shows like "MASH" and movies such as "Django Unchained" and "True Grit." He also managed to eat underwater, though chewing and swallowing posed unique challenges.

Support from Below

Hall was assisted by a team of twenty volunteers who provided him with water, energy drinks, and other supplies. He also received a heartwarming visit from his girlfriend, Tina Fuller, who had never scuba dived before. Fuller obtained her certification just in time to make her first dive and surprise Hall. She found him watching TV and expressed her love for him underwater.

Eager for a Hot Dog

Upon emerging from the lake, Hall expressed his anticipation of one particular delicacy: a hot dog. This simple meal represented the return to everyday pleasures and the end of his extraordinary underwater adventure.
