Early Career and Tigres DebutJesús Molina, a Mexican footballer, is a defensive midfielder for FC Monterrey and the Mexico national team. Born and bred at Club UANL Tigres, his footballing journey began with him being called up to the senior team by coach Américo Gallego in the fall of 2007. On August 24, 2007, Molina made his debut against Veracruz, swiftly earning a spot in the starting lineup under coaches Gallego and Manuel Lapuente.
Breakout at Tigres and NASL Triumph
Molina's talent shone brighter in 2009 when he was named Man of the Match in a game against Monarcas Morelia. That year, he tasted international success as he helped Tigres win the North American SuperLiga. In the semifinals, he opened the scoring against Santos Laguna, securing the team's victory.
Transfer to Club América and Championship Glory
In the summer of 2011, Molina transferred to Club América for a fee of 1.3 million dollars. He made his debut against Querétaro on July 24 and scored his first goal for América against Atlante on February 26, 2012. The peak of his time there came in 2013 when he led América to the Mexican championship.
Dynamic Seasons with Santos Laguna and Monterrey
Moving to Santos Laguna in early 2015, Molina debuted against Cruz Azul, marking his first goal later against Monterrey. That season, he contributed to Santos Laguna's championship triumph. In 2017, he joined FC Monterrey, where he made a notable debut against Puebla, scoring a brace to kick off his goal-scoring streak with the club.
International Career
Jesús Molina's international debut came in 2010 under coach Javier Aguirre in a friendly against North Korea. He replaced Javier Hernández in the latter stages of the match. Molina participated in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup as a reserve member.
Copa América and Gold Cup Appearances
In the 2016 Copa América, Molina played in games against Jamaica and Venezuela. The following year, he earned a bronze medal at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he featured in matches against El Salvador, Honduras, and Jamaica (twice).
