Early Life and EducationJiří Anderle, born in Rakovník, Czechoslovakia, in 1936, embarked on his artistic journey in 1951 when he entered the Higher School of Applied Arts in Prague. His formal training continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he honed his skills in painting under the guidance of Antonín Pelc and in graphic arts under the tutelage of Vladimír Silovský.
Artistic Development
After graduating from the Academy in 1961, Anderle delved into the world of theatre art. His travels across Europe, Australia, Africa, and America during this period exposed him to diverse artistic influences that shaped his unique style.
In 1969, Anderle returned to the Higher School of Applied Arts as an assistant to Zdeněk Sklenář and Jiří Trnka. This period marked a significant turning point in his career, as he began to explore the existential nature of human existence through his graphic works.
