Biography of Jiri Bubenicek

Jiri Bubenicek was born in 1974 in Poland. He received his dance education in Prague, where his main teachers were Andrej Halas and Jaroslav Slavicky.

Joining the Hamburg Ballet

In 1993, Jiri Bubenicek joined the Hamburg Ballet. He became a soloist in 1995 and a premier dancer in 1997.

Extensive Repertoire

Jiri Bubenicek has an extensive repertoire in classical ballets such as Des Grieux, Albrecht, and a role in Mikhail Fokine's "Le Pavillon d'Armide". However, he has primarily performed leading roles in works by contemporary choreographers such as Neumeier, Eka, Jose Limon, Balanchine, and Nacho Duato.

Award and Invitations

Jiri Bubenicek is a laureate of the international competition "Prix de Lausanne". He has been invited as a guest soloist by several companies in Munich, Vienna, Stockholm, Australia, and has also participated in the international ballet festival in Japan (2000).

Choreographic Works

Jiri Bubenicek is also the author of several independent choreographic works, which have been performed in Hamburg, Sapporo, and Prague. He was a finalist in the choreographic competition "Prix Dom Perignon" in 1999 and 2001.
