Early Life and Career
John Arne Riise is a Norwegian football player born to a Gambian father and a Norwegian mother. He holds the distinction of being the first black player to represent the Norwegian national team. Riise began his football career at the Norwegian clubs Vålerenga and Rosenborg.
Breakthrough at Valencia
In 2001, Riise made the move to Spanish giants Valencia, where he established himself as a key player. He featured prominently in La Liga and the Champions League, solidifying his reputation as an attacking force.
Journey to Roma and Beşiktaş
