Biography of John Clark
John Clark is an American guitarist who has gained recognition for his unique combination of flamenco, classical rock, folk, and traditional music from around the world. His captivating sound is the result of years of performing live and his insatiable desire to absorb all aspects of music.

Clark first picked up an old six-string guitar when he was eleven years old and has considered it his best means of self-expression ever since. Whether recording tracks in a studio or making a living by playing on the streets of San Francisco, Clark has the ability to mesmerize grateful listeners with his talented performances.

Continuing his career solely with the support of his loyal fans, Clark has recently launched a subscription service on his website. Through this service, subscribers have unlimited streaming access to all of his albums, including many unreleased tracks. Clark emphasizes that this direct financing of his music will allow him to create new material on a weekly basis, and he encourages fans to subscribe in order to support his work.

Clark released his first album, "Classical & Spanish Guitar," with ten tracks on September 14, 2005. He refers to this record as his "first demo for classical guitar." On January 1, 2006, he released his first full-length album of classical Spanish guitar, titled "Acoustik Guitar." The album "String and Wood," released on July 29, 2011, showcases Clark's "sincere and energetic artistry." His charismatic sound is accompanied by deep electronic music fragments and smooth, sensual sounds from a string quartet.
The album "String and Wood" demonstrates Clark's wide range of abilities and his innate talent for transforming various styles and techniques into his own sound. It includes original compositions that have developed over the past decade from playing in subways and on the streets. The album features lively tracks like "Fuerte" and "No Pretense," as well as relaxed rhythms in "To Live" and "A Walk to the Lake." The album also includes multi-voiced compositions such as "Aurora Borealis" and "Mosaic for Shadows."
On February 8, 2014, Clark released the album "The John H. Clarke Trio." The trio included Clark, violinist Rob Hansen, and Josh Mellinger on the cajón, a Peruvian percussion instrument with five sides. The trio members met while performing in the Fisherman's Wharf area in San Francisco and recorded the album at Live Oak Studios in Berkeley, California.
Recently, Clark has been working on a new album of cover songs, which may include tracks such as "Hotel California," "Every Breath You Take," "Wish You Were Here," "Back to Black," Francisco Tárrega's "Lágrima," and Isaac Albéniz's "Asturias Leyenda."
Finally, on April 30, 2016, Clark released his latest work, "Waterfront," which includes 14 tracks. He continues to study and practice music every day, playing the guitar at home and attending music courses at local colleges. Clark has also launched a website offering guitar lessons and aims to provide weekly lessons to his students.
With an unwavering dedication to his craft, Clark is determined to maintain these habits for the rest of his life. He states, "The need to study and practice music is constantly before me."
