John Maxwell is a renowned American religious leader, writer, motivator, and speaker who is widely recognized as a leading expert in leadership. He is the author of more than 60 books, primarily focused on various aspects of leadership. His works have sold over 19 million copies to date, translated into 50 languages worldwide, and have frequently appeared on the New York Times bestseller list.

Early Life and Education

John Maxwell was born in Garden City, Michigan. Following in his father's footsteps, he quickly decided to pursue a career in the ministry. In 1969, he earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio Christian University. He then went on to receive a master's degree in theology from Azusa Pacific University and later obtained a doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Pastoral Career and Return to the Church

For over 30 years, Maxwell served as a pastor in various churches in Indiana, California, Ohio, and Florida. In 1995, after 14 years as a senior pastor, he decided to step away from the church to dedicate more time to writing books and public speaking. However, in 2004, he returned to the church and became the pastor at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.

Leadership and Motivational Work

Although Maxwell is known for his religious activities, he gained global recognition through his motivational works. He is affiliated with several major motivational organizations, and his educational courses based on his books have trained approximately 5 million potential leaders and managers. One of the organizations he works with, 'EQUIP,' collaborates with prominent leaders in over 80 countries worldwide.
