Biography of Jonas Brothers
Jonas Brothers is an American pop group consisting of three brothers - Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas. They released two albums - "It's About Time" in 2006 and "The Jonas Brothers" in 2007. They recently released their third album, "A Little Bit Longer". The group originally started as a solo project of Nick Jonas. Nick was discovered by an agent at the age of 6 while performing at a hair salon. At the age of 7, he began performing on Broadway. By 2004, he had appeared in several productions, including "A Christmas Carol", "Beauty and the Beast", "Les Misérables", and "The Sound of Music".
Early Career
In 2002, Nick wrote the song "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)". In 2003, the record label INO Records released the song on Christian radio, where it became quite popular. Nick then signed a contract with Columbia Records and released the song "Dear God". His debut album was supposed to be released after the release of the second single but was delayed and released in limited quantities later. For the solo album, Nick recorded several songs with his brothers Joe and Kevin.
Formation of Jonas Brothers
In 2005, the new president of Columbia Records, Steve Greenberg, heard Nick's album. After meeting with Nick, where he performed the song "Please Be Mine" with his brothers, all three brothers were offered a contract as a group. After signing with Columbia Records, the brothers initially wanted to name their group "Sons Of Jonas", but later renamed it to "Jonas Brothers". In 2005, Jonas Brothers opened for tours of artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, Backstreet Boys, and the Click Five. In the latter half of the year, they toured with Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls. They also opened for concerts by The Veronicas in early 2006.
Success and Albums
For the recording of the album "It's About Time," the brothers worked with producers such as Adam Schlesinger, Michael Mangini, Desmond Child, Billy Mann, and Steve Greenberg. The album was scheduled to be released in February 2006 but faced multiple delays. The first single, "Mandy," was released on December 27, 2005. The music video premiered on TRL on MTV on February 22, 2006. Another song, "Time For Me to Fly," was released on the soundtrack of the film "Aquamarine" in February. The group spent the winter and spring of 2006 touring with the sisters Aly & AJ. "It's About Time" was released on August 8, 2006, in limited quantities of 50,000 copies.
Due to Sony's lack of interest in promoting the group, Jonas Brothers considered leaving the label. The final decision was made in early 2007. In February 2007, Jonas Brothers signed a contract with Hollywood Records. On June 16, 2007, the group started their summer tour across America.
Recent Success
The first single, "Hold On," from their new album was released in the spring of 2007. Their self-titled album, "Jonas Brothers," was released on August 7, 2007. In its first week, it reached the fifth position on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. Immediately after the album's release, the second single, "SOS," was released. The group actively promoted their album, including appearing in an episode of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" titled "Me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas." They also recorded a collaboration with Miley Cyrus titled "We Got the Party." On November 18, 2007, the group performed their song "SOS" at the American Music Awards. From October 18, 2007, to January 9, 2008, Jonas Brothers embarked on a joint tour with Miley Cyrus, consisting of 54 concerts across America.
