Andreas Hallén

Andreas Hallén was a Swedish violinist, composer, and music educator.
Education and Early Career

Born in Stockholm, Hallén studied violin under Franz Berwald and later in Brussels with Hubert Léonard. He joined the Royal Orchestra as a violinist in 1853.

Conductorship and Teaching

In 1872, Hallén became the conductor of the Royal Orchestra, a role he held until 1885. From 1882 to 1903, he taught composition and orchestration at the Royal College of Music, where he mentored notable students like Otto Olsson.

Compositions

Hallén composed various works, including:
- Symphony in D minor
- Violin Concerto
- Operetta "Marokko" (1866)
- Chamber music
- Songs
