Blessed Martyr of the Roman Catholic Church
Early Life and EducationStanislaw Karwacki, a blessed martyr of the Roman Catholic Church, was born in 1908. In 1928, he completed his secondary education at Adam Asnyk High School in Kalisz. He then attended the Infantry Cadet School in Jarocin, graduating in 1931.
Vocation and Pastoral Ministry
Responding to his calling, Karwacki entered the Higher Spiritual Seminary in Włocławek in 1931. On June 14, 1936, he was ordained a priest and served as a vicar in the Catholic parish of Osęciny. As a pastor, he dedicated himself to the education and guidance of children and youth.
Martyrdom and Legacy
On May 24, 1940, Karwacki and his parish priest, Wincenty Matuszewski, were executed in a forest near Osęciny by German occupation forces. Their graves eventually became a place of pilgrimage. On June 13, 1999, Karwacki was beatified by Pope John Paul II alongside other Polish martyrs of World War II. His feast day is celebrated on June 12.
