Franz Beckenbauer
Early Life and CareerFranz Beckenbauer was born on September 11, 1945, in Munich, West Germany. By the age of 18, he had joined the Bayern Munich youth team.
Football Career
Beckenbauer quickly rose through the ranks at Bayern Munich, becoming a key player for the first team by the late 1960s. Known for his exceptional versatility, he could play as a sweeper, center-back, or midfielder.
Beckenbauer was a cornerstone of Bayern's success in the 1970s, leading the club to three consecutive European Cups from 1974 to 1976. He also won the Bundesliga title five times and the German Cup four times.
At the international level, Beckenbauer represented West Germany and was part of the team that won the 1972 European Championship and the 1974 World Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time.
Coaching Career
