Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Kayci Lynn Battaglia, known professionally as Kaci, was born on October 3, 1987, in Clearwater, Florida. She began singing at the tender age of three and joined a local youth group at age eight, performing at various city events. During her time in music school, she mastered diverse musical genres, including jazz, country, and pop, and honed her skills in classic songs like "Over the Rainbow" and "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart."

Indie Success and Album Releases

At age nine, Kaci recorded a Christmas album for her family and friends. At 11, she released her album "A Thousand Stars," dedicated to her mother, with part of the proceeds going to a local project building houses for the homeless. Concurrently, she embarked on her television career with commercials and appearances in projects like "Disney Christmas Special" and "Camp Tanglefoot: It All Adds Up" (1999).

After the success of her independent album, Kaci sought label representation and connected with Curb Records executive Mike Curb, who signed her after hearing tracks from "A Thousand Stars." Her debut single, "Paradise," was released in 2001, followed by her full-length debut album "I'm Not Anybody's Girl" in 2002.

International Acclaim

"Paradise" soared through the charts in the UK, staying in the Top 40 for 11 weeks. Its music video was a top five hit on MTV and Box UK. In the US, "Paradise" garnered "Pick of the Day" status on Nick Video, surpassing tracks by Jennifer Lopez and Lil Bow Wow, and ranked among the top five requested songs on Disney Channel. Kaci received a Disney Channel Kids Award nomination and was hailed as the "Breakthrough Act" of SmashHits Tour in Europe.

Continued Success and Recognition

After a successful start to her career, Kaci's music struck a chord with print publications. Articles and photographs featuring her appeared in magazines such as "Teen People," "Bop," "Sugar," and "Popstars." In 2003, she released a photo book, "Kaci: I'm a Singer," capturing her amidst the nature and architecture of her Florida hometown. The book was exclusive to Japan.

Film Soundtrack and Touring

In 2005, Kaci contributed the soundtrack "I Will Learn to Love Again" to the film "Man of the Year." She subsequently toured throughout Europe, performing sold-out shows in Ireland and Germany. After completing her first solo US tour, sponsored by Pepsi, Fuji Film, and GGP, Kaci continued to work on her next album.

Beyond music, Kaci is an avid athlete. She played basketball and volleyball in high school and holds a brown belt in karate, striving for a black belt. She trains with world champion kickboxer Jim Graden, aiming to become the youngest certified kickboxing instructor.
