Biography of Kari Ramo
Early CareerKari Ramo is a Finnish ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for the TPS club. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 6th round, 191st overall, in the 2004 NHL Draft.
Time in Omsk
On June 23, 2009, Ramo signed a 2-year contract with the Omsk-based team, Avangard. In May 2011, he extended his contract with Avangard for an additional two years.
Move to Calgary Flames
In early June 2013, it was announced that Ramo would become a player for the Calgary Flames, and the signing was officially announced in early July "due to regulatory requirements."
Return to Avangard
In May 2018, Ramo returned to Avangard.Achievements
Throughout his career, Ramo has achieved several notable awards and accomplishments. He was the champion of the SM-Liiga in the 2005-2006 season and won a bronze medal in the 2008 Ice Hockey World Championship as a member of the Finnish national team.
Ramo was also the recipient of the Continental Cup in 2011 and participated in the KHL All-Star Game in 2010. He won a silver medal in the 2011-2012 KHL season and another silver medal in the 2018-2019 KHL season.
