Katie Scarborough, a British woman diagnosed with terminal cancer, hails from Belfast. As an 18-year-old, she had the distinction of being the UK's junior figure skating champion.
The Diagnosis and Cancer Journey
In June 2012, at the age of 32, Katie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bowel cancer. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, she received devastating news in September: the treatment had failed, giving her a life expectancy of around six months. Determined to preserve memories for her children, eight-year-old Sam and four-year-old Sophie, Katie launched an online blog in July 2012.

In her poignant entries, Katie candidly shares her experiences, hopes, and fears. Despite her deteriorating health, she remains optimistic and uses her platform to raise awareness and provide support to others facing similar battles.

Katie's blog continues to serve as a source of inspiration, reminding others of the importance of living fully in the present. Through her fundraising efforts, she has supported the charities Cancer Research UK and Bowel Cancer UK.
