In 2009, Gallagher claimed her first international accolade at the New Zealand Winter Games, winning gold in the giant slalom alongside guide skier Claire Robb. She made history by becoming the first Northern Irish athlete to compete at the Winter Paralympics in 2010, representing Team GB in the giant slalom and slalom events.
In 2014, Gallagher achieved another milestone at the Sochi Winter Paralympics. Paired with guide Charlotte Evans, she secured the first gold medal for Great Britain at the Games in the super-G event.
