Early Career and NHL Debut

Kevin Dallman, a dual citizen of Kazakhstan and Canada, began his professional hockey career with the Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Despite going undrafted, his impressive performances led him to a contract with the Boston Bruins in 2002. He made his NHL debut at the age of 24 during the 2005-06 season, accumulating 31 points (8 goals, 23 assists) over 154 games with the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, and Los Angeles Kings.

Stellar Performance in the KHL

In 2008, Dallman joined Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He immediately made an impact, setting a new scoring record for defenders with 58 points (28 goals, 30 assists) in his first season. The next year, he continued to dominate, notching 42 points (14 goals, 28 assists) in 55 games. His exceptional play earned him the title of Best Defensive Player in the entire KHL.

International Career with Kazakhstan

After expressing his desire to represent Kazakhstan, Dallman began the process of acquiring citizenship in 2010. In January 2013, he officially obtained Kazakh citizenship and made his debut with the national team in the Olympic qualification tournament. He represented Kazakhstan at the 2014 World Championship in Minsk and helped the country win the Division I title in 2015.

Retirement and Legacy

Dallman retired from professional hockey on August 5, 2019. Throughout his career, he achieved numerous accolades, including being named to the Third All-Star Team in both the OHL and CHL, winning the KHL Best Defensive Player award, and earning a spot on the KHL First All-Star Team twice. He also participated in seven KHL All-Star Games, a testament to his exceptional talent and legacy in the sport.
