Biography of Kia Stevens

Kia Michelle Stevens, known by her ring names Amazing Kong, Awesome Kong, and Margaret, is an American independent professional wrestler (diva). She is currently affiliated with promotions such as TNA, NWA, and Shimmer Women Athletes, as well as various independent companies in the United States and Japan.

Early Career in Japan

In Japan, Kia competed in the WWWA Super Heavyweight Championship and the AWA World Superstars of Women's Wrestling Championship. Teaming up with Ajay Kong as 'Double Kong', she won numerous tag team championships. After returning to the United States, Stevens made a single appearance at the NWA World Women's Championship in 2007. Later that year, she joined TNA and immediately engaged in a rivalry with Gail Kim. During her time in the promotion, she held the Knockouts Championship twice and shared the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship with her partner Hamada.

Early Life and Training

Kia Michelle Stevens was born on September 4, 1977. She began her professional wrestling career in 2002 after being inspired by reality shows. Before pursuing wrestling, Stevens worked as a social worker. In 2002, she participated in the Discovery Health program 'Body Challenge', where she aimed to lose weight and become a professional wrestler. She then trained at the School of Hard Knocks in San Bernardino, California, and had her first professional match in EWF. Stevens continued her training in Japan and debuted in AJW in October 2002 as Amazing Kong. She worked with several Japanese promotions and defeated Ayako Hamada for the WWWA Super Heavyweight Championship at the end of 2004.

Career in TNA

Stevens made her debut in TNA on October 11, 2007, defeating Gail Kim on the program 'Impact!'. At the 'Bound for Glory' preview, as Amazing Kong, she won her first TNA Knockouts Championship in the 'Knockout Gauntlet' match. She later lost the title due to the combined efforts of Angelina Love, Jessica Kresa (ODB), and Gail Kim. However, on January 10, 2008, Kong won the Women's Knockout Championship on an episode of 'Impact!'. She was accompanied by a mysterious woman in a burqa named Raisha Saeed during her title victory. Kong and Saeed formed a tag team and faced Kim and Kresa at the 'TNA Lockdown' preview.

Throughout her time in TNA, Kong issued a challenge to anyone in the audience, offering $25,000 for defeating her. Although her opponents were always wrestlers in disguise, Kong consistently defeated them week after week. However, she unexpectedly lost to a competitor named Taylor Wilde after two victories, fulfilling her promise to pay the money and relinquishing the Knockouts Championship. Although she failed to regain the title in a rematch at the 'Victory Road' preview, she ultimately became a two-time champion in an episode of 'Impact!'.

Later Career

In January 2010, radio host Bubba Love Sponge alleged that Amazing Kong attacked him backstage at the 'Impact!' program. A month later, Kong filed a lawsuit against Bubba, claiming he had made threatening phone calls to her. On March 1, 2010, Kia Stevens stopped working with TNA, but her profile remains on the company's official website. On March 8, 2010, it was announced on 'Impact!' that Kong and Hamada were stripped of their Knockouts Championships for supposedly not defending it within 30 days, although only 21 days had passed.
