American Girl Struck by Lightning in the Womb
Kimberly Gordon is a little American girl who became a victim of lightning. Not her own being struck, but her mother's. This incident occurred on July 4, 2013, while the whole country was enchanted by the fireworks celebrating Independence Day. Kendra Villanueva, together with her boyfriend Ian Gordon, were also outside, celebrating the Fourth of July despite Kendra being 38 weeks pregnant. Suddenly, lightning struck Ian and passed through him, hitting Kendra. At first, they didn't realize what had happened, but soon after, they rushed to the hospital, even though there were no visible injuries to either Kendra or Ian. Kimberly was born on the same day, via cesarean section, at the University of New Mexico Hospital. A few days later, Kimberly's Facebook page stated that her daughter was unharmed by the lightning strike. Kimberly's hair stood on end, as if electrified. In fact, her hair was electrically charged and has remained so for over a year. Her hair grows almost perpendicular to her head, defying any attempts by Kendra to flatten or style it. The parents also noticed other issues with their daughter, such as difficulty sleeping and inability to eat independently. Despite these challenges, Kendra and Ian consider themselves incredibly fortunate. They not only survived a powerful lightning strike but also managed to preserve their child, which is not common according to medical statistics. Kimberly continues to grow with her permanently static and electrified hair, and while there may be some concerns about her development due to the lightning strike, her parents and doctors remain hopeful that she will overcome any lasting effects.
