Thibaut Courtois: Belgium's Elite Goalkeeper
Thibaut Nicolas Marc Courtois is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. He is widely regarded as one of the world's best goalkeepers.
Club Career
Courtois began his youth career at Bilzen V.V. and Racing Genk. In 2011, he joined Chelsea's academy. He made his debut for the senior team in 2012 and helped them win the Premier League and Europa League titles. In 2014, Courtois joined Atlético Madrid on loan, where he won the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey.
In 2018, Courtois returned to Chelsea and was a key player in their Europa League triumph. However, he left the club in 2019 to join Real Madrid. With Real Madrid, he has won multiple trophies including two La Liga titles and the Champions League.
International Career
Courtois made his international debut for Belgium in 2011. He was part of the Belgian team that reached the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the fourth place in 2018 FIFA World Cup. He has earned over 100 caps for his country and is their all-time leading goalkeeper.
