Early Life and Education
Ion Sulac was born on November 24, 1955, in the village of Clocușna, Ocnița district. From 1972 to 1977, he attended the Chișinău Polytechnic Institute (now the Technical University of Moldova), graduating with a diploma in engineering, specializing in machine building, machines, and tools technology.
Professional Career
Upon completing his studies, Sulac was employed in 1977 at ASP "Microprom" as an engineer-technologist. In 1980, he was transferred as chief technologist to the "Moldselma?" group in Bălți, where he was promoted to senior technician in 1986.
From 1989 to 1995, Sulac served as the director of the "Agroteh" plant within "Moldselma?" and was elected Chairman of the Board of JSC "Moldagrotehnica" in 1995. During this period, he also studied at the Moscow Academy of National Economy (1990-1992).
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry
By Presidential Decree No. 4-V of September 25, 2009, Sulac was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova.
