Kyle Kandilian: The American Student Who Raises Cockroaches at Home
Kyle Kandilian is an American student who leads a rather peculiar lifestyle. He lives with... 200,000 cockroaches that he collects and breeds right in his own home. While the rest of the world is tirelessly trying to get rid of these unpleasant insects, Kyle, on the other hand, creates the most favorable conditions for cockroaches to thrive and reproduce.

A Passion for Cockroaches
Kyle Kandilian, a 20-year-old student from Dearborn, Michigan, has been passionately involved with cockroaches for at least the past 8 years. He breeds them for business purposes, as owners of exotic animals buy them from him as feed. The money he earns goes towards paying for his education at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he is majoring in forestry and specializing in combating forest pests. Interestingly, it was at the university that Kyle first encountered a 10-gallon aquarium full of cockroaches as a child, and he found it extremely fascinating. He was even allowed to take a couple of them home, and today Kyle fondly recalls his mother's reaction when he asked if he could breed cockroaches at home. "Not in this house," was the categorical response. It is unknown how Kyle managed to eventually convince his parents, but in the end, they did allow him to start his "roach business."

Roachcrossing.com: A Unique Project
Roachcrossing.com is the name of Kyle Kandilian's project, and soon enough, the first customers, owners of exotic animals and reptiles, started coming to him. Today, Kyle has around 200,000 cockroaches, which has become a big problem for his parents. One morning, his mother woke him up and led him to the bathroom, where a huge and audacious cockroach was sitting on a roll of toilet paper. "Kyle, we must immediately put an end to this!" she said, trying to contain her emotions. As for Kyle, the idea of being afraid of cockroaches doesn't even cross his mind. He calmly picks them up, places them on himself, and feels no discomfort at all. "Out of the 4,000 types of cockroaches in the world, maybe only about a dozen are pests," he says. "But it is these dozen that define the negative image."

A Hobby and a Business
It is amazing that after 8 years of fascination with cockroaches and studying them, Kyle's interest only continues to grow. He is simply delighted by their diversity and unique characteristics. Kyle's room is filled with boxes and aquariums in which he keeps his cockroaches. Some of them are representatives of quite rare species, and he is very proud of them. In general, he believes that he is very fortunate - he has found his true passion in life. His cockroaches are both a hobby and a business, and this rare combination is the dream of many.
Acceptance and Stunning Photography
By the way, over time, Kyle's parents have become accustomed to this unexpected cohabitation. After all, they have realized that these insects do not cause any harm. However, not many people share this opinion, and therefore, even vibrant photographs of Kyle Kandilian with his cockroaches can leave particularly sensitive individuals in a state of near fainting.
