Early Life and Career
Juraj Kolník, a Slovak professional ice hockey player, was born in Dunajská Streda, Czechoslovakia. Despite his Hungarian ancestry, he identifies as Slovak. His exceptional talent for ice hockey was evident from a young age, and he quickly rose through the ranks of youth hockey in his hometown.

Junior Career
In the 1998-99 season, Kolník had a breakout year in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). As a member of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, he earned the Michel Bergeron Trophy as the league's top rookie, tallying an impressive 97 points in 67 games. His impressive performance caught the attention of the St. Louis Blues, who selected him 177th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Career
Kolník made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues in the 2000-01 season. He spent the next four seasons with the team, becoming a reliable winger known for his speed and agility. After a brief stint with the Phoenix Coyotes, he signed with the Dallas Stars in 2007 and later played for the Los Angeles Kings in 2012. In total, he appeared in 435 NHL games, recording 311 points (115 goals and 196 assists).
International Career
Kolník has represented Slovakia on the international stage, making his debut at the World Junior Championships in 1999. His most significant accomplishment came in the 2002 World Championships, where he helped the Slovak team capture the gold medal. He also earned a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships.
Recent Years
Kolník currently plays for HC Košice in the Slovak Extraliga. He remains an integral part of the team, providing mentorship and leadership to younger players. Off the ice, he is dedicated to giving back to the community through various charitable initiatives.
