Levan Kenia, a Georgian footballer, rose to prominence as a midfielder for Tbilisi Locomotive and the Georgian national team.
Early Career and Breakthrough
Kenia made his professional debut at the tender age of 16 for Tbilisi Locomotive. His exceptional talent caught the attention of Bundesliga giants Schalke 04, who signed him in January 2008 on a four-year contract. Initially playing for Schalke's youth squad, Kenia was promoted to the first team for the 2008/09 season.
Injury Setbacks
Kenia's promising career was marred by a series of unfortunate injuries. A persistent ankle injury forced him to undergo three surgeries, sidelining him for an extended period. Despite resuming training in January 2011, he suffered another setback in September of the same year, leaving his future in doubt.
Return to the Field
After nearly two years on the sidelines, Kenia made a remarkable return to training on January 29, 2012. He played his final match for Schalke on October 25, 2009.
International Debut and Acclaim
Kenia's international debut for Georgia arrived on September 8, 2007, in a match against Ukraine. He scored his first goal for the national team against Estonia on May 28, 2008. Kenia also represented Georgia at the U-17, U-19, and U-21 levels. Former Georgia coach Klaus Toppmöller hailed him as the country's most talented young player.

Levan Kenia is the nephew of Giorgi Kinkadze, a former footballer for Tbilisi Dynamo and SC Freiburg.
