Liam Cooper is a Scottish footballer of English descent who currently plays as a defender for Leeds United.

Early Life and Youth Career

Born in Kingston-upon-Hull, England, on August 30, 1991, Cooper was educated at Malet Lambert School. After graduating, he joined Hull City's youth academy. In April 2008, he was part of the club's Youth League-winning squad, scoring the opening goal in the 3-0 victory over Colchester United despite being sent off for handball shortly after.

Professional Debut and Hull City Breakthrough

Cooper made his debut for Hull City's first team in the League Cup against Swansea City on August 26, 2008. On his 17th birthday, he signed his first professional contract with the club. His Premier League debut came on September 26, 2009, against Liverpool at Anfield. In March 2010, Cooper signed a new three-year deal with Hull City.

Loan Spells and International Recognition

In January 2011, Cooper was sent on loan to Carlisle United to gain playing experience. He made his debut against Bristol Rovers and scored his first professional goal in the match. He was then loaned to Huddersfield Town in July 2011. However, he requested an early termination of his loan in December due to a managerial change at Hull City.

International Honours

Since March 2008, Cooper has represented Scotland at various youth levels. He has played for the Scotland under-19 team, making one appearance to date.
