Luca Castellazzi: An Italian Goalkeeping Maestro

Early Career

Luca Castellazzi embarked on his professional career with Italian side Monza. However, his Serie A debut came on loan at Brescia in 2000. After subsequent loan spells at Reggina and Catania, he emerged as Brescia's first-choice goalkeeper.

Brescia and Sampdoria

Following Brescia's relegation in 2005, Castellazzi joined Sampdoria. He became Sampdoria's starting goalkeeper during the 2006-2007 season. In February 2008, he extended his contract for two more years, expiring on June 30, 2010.

On April 13, 2008, during Reggina-Sampdoria, Castellazzi dislocated his right shoulder in a collision with Reggina striker Nicola Amoruso. He returned on October 2 in Sampdoria's UEFA Cup first round match against Kaunas, which ended 1-2 for Sampdoria, captaining the team.

Internazionale

In the summer of 2010, Castellazzi was acquired by Inter Milan. He made his debut on October 29 in Serie A, playing 27 minutes. He joined Inter from Sampdoria in August 2010 on a two-year contract. His first match for Inter was on October 29, 2010, in Serie A against Genoa, replacing Julio Cesar in the 65th minute. At the club, he was brought in to replace the retiring Francesco Toldo. His second appearance was on November 2 in the Champions League against Tottenham Hotspur.

Later Career

On May 12, 2012, Castellazzi extended his contract with Inter until 2014. On September 1, 2014, he was acquired by Torino, signing until the following June. He made his debut on January 14, 2015, in the Coppa Italia against Lazio. At the end of the season, he renewed his contract with Torino to June 30, 2016; once it expired, he retired from football as a player.
