Biography of Lyudmila Kudryavtseva
Lyudmila Kudryavtseva is a Ukrainian philologist and Russian language specialist. She is a Doctor of Philological Sciences and a professor. Kudryavtseva is known for her extensive research on the state of Russian language education in Ukraine.
Education and Career
Lyudmila Kudryavtseva graduated from Donetsk State University and has been working at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) since 1983. She started as an associate professor and later became a professor at the Department of Russian Language. Kudryavtseva holds a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree. She is also an honorary professor at Khmelnytskyi National University of Technology "Podilia".
Affiliations and Contributions
Lyudmila Kudryavtseva is the President of the Ukrainian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (UAPRYAL). She is a member of the Presidium of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature. Kudryavtseva serves as the chief editor of the international scientific periodical "Rusistika" and is the editor-in-chief of the "Information Bulletin of UAPRYAL" and the subscription scientific-methodical journal "Russian Language, Literature, Culture in School and University". She is also the leader of the research topic "Study of the Processes of Formation and Development of Mass Communication Language in the Modern Information Society".
Contributions to Linguistics
Lyudmila Kudryavtseva was the first in Ukraine to start working on the problems of dynamic modeling and one of the first in the CIS to address the study of the peculiarities of the language of the media and the language of the city. Her research focuses on the language of mass communication in the contemporary information society.
