Biography of Madison Chock
Early Years and Career Beginnings
Madison Chock is an American figure skater who specializes in ice dancing. She was born in California and has a mixed Irish-Hawaiian heritage. Chock started skating at the age of five and initially partnered with Kurt Langerfernte. Together, they placed fourth at the U.S. Junior Championships in 2006.
Partnership with Greg Zuerlein
In 2006, Chock teamed up with Greg Zuerlein and they achieved fifth place at the U.S. Novice Championships in 2007. The following year, they won bronze at the national competition, securing their spot in the Junior Grand Prix Final where they placed fifth. In the 2008/2009 season, Chock and Zuerlein won all their competitions, including the Junior Grand Prix Final, U.S. Junior Championships, and Junior World Championships, becoming champions in each event.
Partnership with Evan Bates
After Zuerlein retired, Chock formed a new partnership with Evan Bates. Together, they won two gold medals at the Grand Prix events in the fall of 2014. They also claimed the U.S. National Championships title in 2015 and became silver medalists at the World Championships in the same year. In 2016, they won bronze at the World Championships.
