Maria An Linghua was a Roman Catholic saint and martyr born in China during the Boxer Rebellion, which took place from 1899 to 1900. During this turbulent period, many Christians were persecuted and killed.

Arrest and Martyrdom

On July 11, 1900, Maria An Linghua, along with her grandmother Anna An Xin and relatives Maria An Guo and Anna An Jiao, were arrested by Boxer rebels for their Christian beliefs. They were threatened with death if they refused to renounce their faith.

Despite being subjected to immense pressure, the women remained steadfast in their faith, resulting in their execution outside the boundaries of their village.
