Marion Maréchal was born on December 10, 1989, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. She is the granddaughter of far-right politician Jean-Marie Le Pen and the niece of former National Front leader Marine Le Pen.
Maréchal studied public law at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. At the age of 18, she joined the National Front (FN). In 2012, she was elected to the French National Assembly, becoming the youngest member of parliament at the age of 22.
Parliamentary Career
As a member of parliament, Maréchal served on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Commission on Cultural and Educational Affairs. She was also a member of the parliamentary friendship groups with Russia and Côte d'Ivoire.
Maréchal was known for her strong conservative views, advocating for a ban on same-sex marriage and the reduction of taxes on small and medium-sized businesses. She was also a supporter of proportional representation and referendums.
National Front Leadership
In 2015, Maréchal led the FN's electoral list in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regional elections. While the list came first in the first round, it was defeated by the incumbent Republican Party candidate in the second round.
Maréchal became the regional councilor and head of the FN delegation in the regional assembly. Following Marine Le Pen's defeat in the 2017 presidential election, Maréchal announced her retirement from politics to focus on her daughter and personal life.
Post-Political Career
In 2018, Maréchal founded the Institute for Social, Economic, and Political Sciences (ISSEP) and became its executive director. In 2019, she announced the creation of the Center for Analysis and Forecasting, aiming to revive public debate.

Legacy
