Marco Rog: A Croatian Football Prodigy
Early CareerMarco Rog began his professional football career with NK Varaždin in the third tier of Croatian football in 2013. In just 30 appearances, he scored an impressive 17 goals, earning him a move to HNK Split in the summer of 2014.
HNK Split
Rog made his debut for Split in the Europa League qualifiers on July 10, 2014, against FC Mika from Armenia. He made his Croatian First Football League debut on July 28 against Istra 1961. Rog quickly became a key player for Split, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists in 44 matches during the 2014/15 season.
GNK Dinamo Zagreb
In June 2015, Rog signed a five-year contract with GNK Dinamo Zagreb for a transfer fee of approximately €5 million. He made his debut for the club on July 12, coming on as a substitute in a match against Hajduk Split. Ten days later, he scored his first goal for Dinamo in a Champions League qualifying match against FC Fola Esch from Luxembourg.
International Career
Rog made his international debut for Croatia on November 12, 2014, as a substitute for Duje Čop in a friendly match against Argentina.
